of Movement

"Our purpose is to imitate,
to absorb the movement of the world
into ourselves through our limbs.
What do we do then?
We dance. . .
All true dancing has arisen from imitating in the limbs
the movement carried out by the planets,
by other heavenly bodies or by the earth itself. . .
When the limbs carry out the harmonious cosmic movements of the universe,
...it ... begins to sing."
(Steiner, Study of Man, 144).

What, Exactly, do the Dancers Do?
The dancers, arranged in a circle, move simultaneously a specific geometric form through space in such a way that the entire circle of dancers rotates, creating an etheric flower (spirograph).
At the same time, specific gestures are formed via the heart/arms/hands.
(Each dance has a specific geometric form, gesture, and sound.)
As the dancers sculpt the geometric forms in the air, moving dynamicaly in unison through space something palpable is set in motion:
A rejuvenating cosmic force enters the world through the portal of the human heart
that works into each dancer, activating latent capacities within them.
As well these cosmic forces stream through the community vessel of dancers, and out into the world
as an ensouling embrace. They also work downward, spiritualizing the Earth.
"In the therapeutic application of Cosmic Dance,
the gestures are done so as to enable the streams of life energy
to flow inward in a healing way." (Robert A. Powell)
Why is it Important to Bring Heaven to Earth
through Cosmic Dance?
The true calling of humanity is to participate in,
and actively work toward,
the spiritualization of the Earth.
The Miracle of Love manifesting deep into the human will is profoundly transformative not only for the individual, but also for the Earth and Her elemental kingdoms. Consciously allowing the Heavenly Song to stream through the human being into and around the Earth serves to reunite the Natural World with the Spiritual World, or beings of the Spiritual Hierarchies.
Through Humanity's fall from Grace there has arisen a gap between the two worlds, and many human souls feel this gap and long to fill it. To fill it with the Heavenly Song serves to create a new home for the soul - what is called in the Bible the Heavenly Jerusalem - the New Paradise.
According to the Russian Esotericist Valentin Tomberg only the human being can direct activity and consciousness in both the vertical and the horizontal dimensions. Thus the human being is truly the bridge through which the overcoming of evil (evil as the trend of hardening human life forces through the encroachment of technology - see audio file below) occurs via the permeation of matter by the Heavenly Song.
The words of St. Paul, "The whole of creation is groaning in travail, awaiting redemption by the sons and daughters of light", indicate our mission of becoming radiant, life-giving creative beings who can bring about a re-penetration between the heavenly and earthly worlds.
Cosmic Dance Strengthens Communities:
*Cosmic Dance increases one's awarenes of space. Learning to move dynamically together physically, with grace, is an important social skill that helps us to become sensitive to
the error of trespassing. *The accompanying live music of the great composers (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart etc.) lifts the soul to cosmic realms, a healing experience in that it allows the head to rest. This music, and a resting head, strengthens the forces of the heart. It is the heart that has the potential to create loving, steadfast bonds within communities.

THE MYSTERY OF EVIL IN OUR TIME: A PATH OF AWAKENING CONSCIOUSNESS AND CONSCIENCE
The overcoming of evil will happen, and it will be a tremendous event in the history of the world - a new kind of resurrection. In relation to the mystery of evil in our time, the hope is that for humanity there will be an awakening of consciousness and conscience on a large scale, leading to humankind choosing the Good. One hour audio.
Lecture held by Dr. Robert A. Powell
July 27, 2011
Chapel Hill, NC USA
Sponsored by the Sophia Foundation of North America www.sophiafoundation.org
and The East Coast School of Choreocosmos
During the course of this lecture, Robert asks the question: When did cell phones first come out? Some answered in the 1980's. Here with further information regarding this:
The first hand-held mobile phone was demonstrated by Dr. Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset weighing 2 kg. In 1983, the DynaTAC 8000x was the first to be commercially available. In the twenty years from 1990 to 2010, worldwide mobile phone subscriptions grew from 12.4 million to over 4.6 billion, penetrating the developing economies and reaching the bottom of the economic pyramid."
